Get Licensed

Although an Amateur Radio license is required to transmit on the Amateur bands, there is no license requirement to join VOMARC or participate in any of our events. In fact, it's encouraged!

But when you are ready to take the next step here are some resources to help you learn what you need to pass your Amateur Radio exam and where you can take the test right here in the valley.

Ham Classes

No known Amateur Radio license classes are starting in the near future. Check the Sonoma County Radio Amateurs or the Benicia Amateur Radio Club sites as they have offered classes in the past.

If no in-person classes are available you can always study on your own! In addition to the popular ARRL study guides there are also a few online tools that might be useful including Ham Study.

Brush up on your studied material by taking practice tests online for free at QRZ.com.
